Root Cause Proposal for ADHD, Dyslexia, Headaches and Other Conditions -- Public Request for Research

Rotterdam, Netherlands (PRWeb) November 28, 2006 -- Millions of people suffer from mental conditions and disorders such as ADHD, dyslexia and headaches. Today, it is still unknown as to what causes them. For ADHD and dyslexia in particular, there has been no cure. However, there are now multiple therapies for which treatment results are claimed that go well beyond the results of traditional treatment. It is at such levels that cure is suggested.

Eugen Oetringer, father of a child who formerly suffered from dyslexia and ADHD and initiator of the public request for research, says that his child is essentially cured from both. Moreover, the same therapy worked for his eye-focusing problems, headaches and concentration and memory problems.

These two cases don't stand on their own, but there are indicators for 22,000 other cases with similar results. Please note: in the case of dyslexia, a catch-up can be needed as children may have missed, due to dyslexia, vital exercises in school.

While going through two unusual therapies for his son's dyslexia, Mr. Oetringer found both therapies applied the same techniques he used in his profession to remove capacity bottlenecks in large computers. Next, he wanted to understand what was going on and developed a model that explains how the information management can happen in the human brain; for example, how patterns can connect with each other.

By applying fundamental computer architecture principles and limitations of computer architectures in particular, one conclusion became that the brain may not be as complex as widely believed. Moreover, the treatment experiences, together with the information management model, provide reasoning in support of the capacity bottleneck prediction.

Today, the situation is such that, what could be break-through therapies - one developed by a dyslectic and another one developed by a father of a child with dyslexia - still receive strong opposition from scientists and professionals as there are conflicts with current scientific beliefs and conclusive scientific proof is not available yet. Although the capacity bottleneck prediction provides a common base as to why these therapies are effective, it can be expected that, with the scientific protocol, it will take another 10 to 25 years to have this sorted out - with four years gone by already.

Given the direct consequences ADHD, dyslexia and other conditions have for those who suffer, but also the indirect consequences they must have on aggressive behavior, violence or crime and the enormous cost thereof, another 10 to 25 years is far too long. Consequently, Mr. Oetringer created a request for research in the hope that this timeframe will be reduced drastically and intermediate solutions for conflicts with scientific beliefs are found while the needed research is pending.

The request for research, consisting of a formal request (co- signed by a remedial teacher), a list of facts, fundamental computer architecture aspects that should also apply to the brain, a downloadable summary and the publication "Surprise Treatment for Dyslexia, ADHD, Headaches and Other Conditions - It's all about Information Management" (ISBN 1-4120 9586 7), are available via www.onmentalhealth.org.

Most doctors, when they encounter a case of ADHD, turn to stimulant or anti-depressant drugs to counteract most of the disorders symptoms. This position has become controversial as many would like to dismiss the diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder altogether saying that there is no evidence of neurological differences, or that there are no medical tests to diagnose ADD ADHD, or that the diagnostic criteria is too broad.
